Single tooth gap

When a tooth is missing.

In the case of tooth gaps caused by the absence of a single tooth is defined as a single tooth gap with at least one tooth present in front of or behind the missing tooth. The absence of a tooth is a significant impairment and limitation to quality of life. The extent to which a single tooth gap is an impairment is dependent on age. To compensate for the missing tooth, an adhesive bridge can be implanted for the incisors regardless of the age of the patient. The bridge can then be one-sided or two-sided. However, in younger patients a single tooth gap can also occur due to the oblique outgrowth of the successive teeth. In this case, only one tooth positioning regulation is possible via a fixed clasp.
